Breakdown of New and Reprinted Cards in Fabled Revealed!

This August, the Disney Lorcana TCG will celebrate its second year anniversary and Ravensburger has a lot of changes planned for this amazing game. The most important one is the official start of Set Rotation in Disney Lorcana that will limit the cards the players can use to those released from set five onwards. This tool is designed to keep the game engaging in particular for those who started recently and that may not have been able to collect some key cards from the first sets.

However, in order to better support the rotation and to allow all players to still use some of their favourite cards, the first set of the third year of Disney Lorcana, Fabled, will include a lot of cards from the first four sets together with newly released cards. The reprints will be numbered with the same set number as Fabled (i.e. EN-9) but they will have the same artwork and characteristics of the original cards (except for some typos that may be fixed in these reprints).

As players will be able to use either the original cards from the first four sets or the re-printed one, there was a lot of expectation on how many reprints the set will actually include. During last week Lorecast, the mystery have been unveiled and we finally learned more details about the new Chapter of Disney Lorcana releasing to local game stores on August the 29th and in all other retails on September the 5th.

Key Details about Fabled Reprints: As previously announced, Fabled card list will include a significant amount of cards being reprinted from the first four sets of the game. The list and amount of these cards have been designed to ensure players will still be able to use some Ink-defining cards from these sets in their decks even after the four sets will be rotated out. In addition, Ryan Miller, Brand Manager and Co-Designer of Disney Lorcana TCG at Ravensburger emphasised previously this choice will keep “the competitive game thriving, rotating out older cards to encourage new strategies and fresh deck designs” while also keeping in mind that some of the cards from these “early sets are important to a lot of fans’ deck-building strategies, and we know not everybody got the cards they wanted the first year”.

Basing on the above, it may not surprise that Fabled will then include 171 reprinted cards and 33 mechanically new cards. The new cards that will be released with the set will include 6 Legendaries, 6 Super Rare, 11 Rare, 6 Uncommons and 4 Commons. On the other hand, the reprints will include 6 Legendaries, 12 Super Rare, 37 Rare, 48 Uncommon and 68 Common. Interestingly, the set size and the rarity distribution of Fabled is pretty much the same of all previous Lorcana sets.

In addition to the above, 38 cards out of 204 will receive a special treatment: 18 cards will be available as Enchanted (12 from the new cards and 6 from the reprinted ones), 18 as Epic (11 from the new cards and 7 from the reprints) and, finally, 2 cards will be available as Iconic. This new type of cards will be rarer than the Enchanted and we learnt previously that both these cards will be from the new cards featured on the Fabled set. As Ravensburger confirmed, all Enchanted cards will be cards that were never featured in this rarity before therefore no Enchanted will ever be reprinted.

Now that we know how many reprinted cards we can expect to see, all players are obviously wondering which cards actually made the cut and which ones unfortunately will be reserved for the Infinity Constructed format. We have already seen a few of these cards in the previous Lorecast streams but we will likely need to wait for the 2nd Year Conference at Gen Con and the start of the previews to hear more from Ravensburger. In the meantime, let’s not forget that Reign of Jafar Set Championship is still ongoing and it is a great opportunity to still play with all the cards from the 8 sets!!
