When my children ended up in a situation at school, where one was made to feel very upset over a stick situation, the last thing my wife expected to appear when she later opened her phone was a link in her social media to this live Kickstarter of Battlesticks by Zilly Games. Thankfully my children are ok and even in those challenging moments, there is something positive to take away and this looks to definitely be it. Even if we feel someone is having a laugh at our expense.
Zilly Games (a name I love) are the creators of this absolutely fantastic looking card game. Based here in the UK they have already smashed their crowdfunding target on Kickstarter with plenty of time to spare. So what is Battlesticks?
Battlesticks is a game for 2-5 players that is estimated to take around 20 minutes and suitable for players 8 years old and over.
“You and your friends are unleashed into the wild on a hilarious quest to find the greatest sticks to ever exist. Search the forest floor for stick cards, powerful upgrades, and sneaky actions as you build your twiggy arsenal. Stash your best sticks to prepare for the final battle, but be ready for sudden skirmishes along the way! Part scavenger hunt, part showdown and all mayhem. “
There is so much cool looking content on the Kickstarter page, some excellent promotion videos explaining what the game is about and some reviews from the gaming influencers on social media. I reached out to one of them and they were full of praise for the game, with their explanation being exactly what I thought it would be. A simple to play card game that brings a lot of fun to the table top.
I love what Zilly Games stands for as well in this game, looking to get people away from their screens and connecting with real people, having fun together. What could be better than that? Please go and take a look at what they are up to. Congratulations Zilly on your campaigns success so far, I really hope you smash your goals with this game.

Catan was the board game that changed my gaming ways way back in 2000. Up till that point I had been a wargamer but these games were not right for me. Catan will always have a special place in my nerdy heart.
