Fans of Robert Jordan's legendary fantasy series can now bring the battle between Light and Shadow to their tabletop, as The Wheel of Time: War of the Dragon is now on Kickstarter!
Based on the bestselling fantasy saga, the new strategy board game promises large-scale conflict, iconic characters and a chance to shape the fate of the world yourself. For longtime fans, it's the first official board game adaptation of The Wheel of Time, making it a particularly notable release.
Enter the Last Battle
In War of the Dragon, players take on the roles of the story's opposing forces, fighting for control across a world filled with ancient prophecies, powerful armies and dangerous magic.
At the heart of the conflict is Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, whose struggle against the Dark One forms the backbone of the original novels. Players will guide their chosen side through strategic warfare, competing to either save the world or bring about its destruction.
From Tabletop Veterans
The game comes from the publisher behind acclaimed strategy titles such as Clank! and Dune: Imperium, with design work led by Andy Clautice, Mike Mihealsick and Ryan Schoon.
Adding to the appeal for fans, the project features more than 200 original illustrations created specifically for the game, alongside concept art and character designs by Raul Ramos.
A New Way to Explore the Series
While The Wheel of Time has already expanded into television, video games and various collectible products over the years, War of the Dragon offers something a little different. Rather than simply retelling the story, players are given the opportunity to influence the conflict themselves through strategic decisions and military manoeuvres.
