Disney Lorcana Attack of the Vine! Illumineers Trove review

In every set of Disney Lorcana, The Illumineers trove is the funniest and the most flexible product of the line-up. The one just released for Attack of the Vine! is no different and, if possible, it is as whimsical, colourful  and packed with adventure as Carl's house lifted by thousands of balloons in the Disney movie Up! Opening the trove feels, in fact, like setting off on a grand expedition with Russell: you’ve got your tools, your supplies, and a clear sense of “Oh my goodness, what are we going to find?!”

With Attack of Vine! Set release just behind us, I wanted to look into the Illumineer's Trove to discover which fantastic items this small treasure chest has in store for us. As usual, I would like to start by thanking Ravensburger for sharing with me this product as well as others from set 13th line-up. Next step, let's rip the other box and see what we can find inside!

As scary as it is Exciting – What’s Inside the Trove

Attack of the Vine! Illumineer's Trove continues the tradition of providing everything a player needs to dive right into the set, starting with eight exciting booster packs. Each pack provides you all the supplies you need to go on a new Disney Lorcana adventure. Once opened, each pack will get you  6 commons, 3 uncommons, 2 rares or above, and a foil card of any rarity for a total of 12 cards.  In addition, each pack includes one card of the new nine-piece puzzle art that this time, is themed around the new Winnie the Pooh and the Hunny Characters. Spoiler alert: this artwork is gorgeous!!

Alongside the boosters packs, the Trove is filled with beautifully illustrated, and well designed  accessories including six cardboard dividers, six damage-counter dice and one lore tracker. The dice  are themed to match the set therefore have a purple and black marble finish while the numbers are written in light green. The Lore tracker, on the other hand, showcases a beautiful Winnie the Pooh Archmage performing Hunny Magic. The numbers on the lore trackers are not only written in orange to match but they look like they have been drawn with honey. 

Last but not least, the Trove box itself remains a standout accessory for long-term storage. This time, this storage solution is enriched with two sided card dividers: one side shows as usual notable characters from the franchises featured in the set, while the other shows the Vine in different Ink colour. While I love the character choices for the set, the side with the Vine is definitely my favourite.

Will you find a Monster under your bed? - Final Thoughts

As always, the Illumineer's Trove remains one of the best products you can pick up in any Disney Lorcana set. The value is excellent, the accessories are very well designed and the artwork is just beautiful. I really like having one from every set to store all my spare cards although I know it is becoming increasingly difficult to find stock around in the last few sets due to the higher interest the game is having these days.

In my case, I am very grateful to Ravensburger for sharing these products with me and for giving me the opportunity to review them ahead of the release. If you are looking to get a Trove for this set or the last one make sure to pre-order from Zatu and to keep the notification for re-stock active. Ebay can also be a good source for past Trove as you can find empty ones around for a very reasonable prices.

The only aspect I recommend to consider is that empty Troves will not have any Booster Packs. Considering the pulls in Attack of the Vine! has been as good as the ones in Wilds Unknowns, having a chance to pull an Enchanted, an Epic or even an Iconic can make a huge difference. This is particular true if you are a collector, as you know how much the prices of these cards have been growing since the Winterspell set.
