The battle for the Koprulu Sector is officially going tabletop! Archon Studio has launched StarCraft: The Miniatures Game, giving fans of Blizzard’s legendary sci-fi strategy series a new way to command Protoss, Terran, and Zerg forces. Three faction-specific starter sets arrived on August 31, 2026, giving players everything they need to start building their chosen army.

Pick your faction!
There are three starter sets available, with each one focusing on one of StarCraft’s iconic factions. The Protoss Starter Set and Terran Starter Set each contain 17 miniatures, while the Zerg Starter Set packs in an impressive 29 miniatures to represent the Swarm. Every box also includes tokens, reference sheets, unit cards, and a model-building guide. That means new players can get straight into assembling their forces before sending them into battle. The Zerg naturally get more bodies on the battlefield, because apparently one giant alien swarm wasn't enough!
Learn the rules!
Alongside the faction boxes, Archon Studio has released the StarCraft: TMG Core Rules Book as a separate product. The full-colour rulebook contains the complete rules for the miniatures game, alongside photography of the units. Having the core rules available separately should also make it easier for players to expand their collections without needing to buy another starter set. The game is designed to bring the strategic feel of StarCraft into a miniatures format, with players commanding their faction and using their forces to outmanoeuvre their opponent.
From PC to tabletop!
The miniatures game comes from a partnership between Archon Studio and Blizzard Entertainment, which was first announced in March 2025. The deal also revealed plans for a wider range of StarCraft tabletop games, with board games scheduled to follow in 2027. The miniatures game received a public showcase at AdeptiCon 2026, where Archon showed off several upcoming products and gave attendees a look at how the game plays. For StarCraft fans, this is a pretty big moment. The franchise has been a major name in real-time strategy since the original game launched in 1998, and its competitive scene has become particularly iconic in South Korea.

StarCraft: The Miniatures Game is now available through its three faction starter sets, with the Protoss, Terran and Zerg all ready to deploy. There’s plenty more planned for the tabletop range too, so this could be just the beginning of StarCraft’s new life on the gaming table.
