Survive the darkness in this new 3D dungeon crawler!
A demo of highly anticipated indie dungeon crawler ‘Greed & Darkness’ is now available on Steam and Itch.io.
Developed by Rescue Party, Greed & Darkness is a retro-inspired 3D dungeon crawler game featuring its own unique hand-drawn art and animation. Set in first-person perspective, players have to navigate randomly generated catacombs while managing stealth and combat to ensure their survival.
You have been thrown into the labyrinthine hell of Gorge Fortress, and must gain 10,000 gold to unlock the exit and secure a successful escape. It must be done efficiently though, for adventurers who are noisy or linger too long risk waking the dungeon master known as ‘The Gorged One’.
Exploration is intertwined with torch light management. Following a classic format, each room represents a single square, and keeping the torch lit reveals hidden traps, alternate paths, to treasure, but snuffing it allows the darkness to enshroud players completely, hiding them from deadly monsters.
Combat is real-time and to parry, players must swing their swords in tandem with enemy attacks to create opportunities. Also, safe rooms containing beds to rest on and merchants selling a variety of vital equipment can be found littered across the dungeon map, providing items such as compasses and potions.
Gamers who are willing to test their survival instincts and brave the gloom can download the free demo today on Steam and Itch.io. Don’t forget to add it to the wishlist ahead of its full launch!
