Naruto fans will soon have a new way to battle with their favourite ninjas! Bandai Card Games has confirmed that the upcoming Naruto Card Game will officially launch in June 2027, with a series of demo events and promotional activities planned in the months leading up to release. The announcement was made during New York Comic-Con 2026, where Bandai revealed its plans for the new trading card game, including three starter decks, a debut booster pack and opportunities for players to try the game before launch. There's still plenty to learn about the upcoming release, with further announcements expected at Jump Festa 2027 in December. However, the initial reveal has already given fans a clearer idea of what to expect from the new game.
Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara lead the starter decks
The Naruto Card Game will launch with three pre-constructed starter decks centred on Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Gaara. Each deck will feature a different Leader and a unique selection of ninjas, offering its own strategic approach to battles. The decks will also include all the cards needed to get started, meaning players won't need to build a collection before they can jump into their first game. The three characters make for an interesting starting lineup, representing some of the most recognisable figures from the Naruto universe. Their distinct abilities and supporting characters should help give each deck its own identity, encouraging players to experiment with different strategies. The starter decks are also intended to make the game accessible to newcomers. Whether you're a longtime Naruto fan or someone looking to get into trading card games for the first time, the pre-built options should provide a straightforward introduction to the rules.
First booster pack brings more ninjas into battle
Launching alongside the starter decks will be the game's first booster pack, titled Enter: Naruto Uzumaki! The set will feature popular characters from both the original Naruto series and Naruto Shippuden, alongside new ninjas, techniques and other cards. Players will be able to use these additions to strengthen their existing starter decks, collect their favourite characters or develop entirely new strategies.
Bandai also showcased newly revealed card illustrations during its New York Comic-Con presentation, offering an early look at how the anime's characters will be brought into the trading card game. Further artwork and card details are expected to be revealed before the June launch, so fans will have more opportunities to see what's in store as the release approaches.
Demo events begin in February 2027
Players won't have to wait until the full launch to get their hands on the cards. Naruto Card Game Premier Demo Events are scheduled to begin at participating trading card game stores in February 2027. These sessions will give players the chance to learn the rules, try out the cards and experience the game's mechanics before its official release. The rollout will begin with selected larger stores participating in Bandai TCG+, with a second wave bringing additional stores into the programme. The events are designed to welcome both experienced card game players and Naruto fans who have never played a trading card game before. That could help introduce the game to a wider audience, particularly those who know the series but aren't familiar with competitive card games.
One million demo decks planned worldwide
Bandai is also planning a major global promotional campaign for spring 2027, with one million demo decks set to be distributed worldwide. The initiative will give players another opportunity to learn the basics and experience the game's ninja-themed strategic battles before the full release. More information about how the decks will be distributed is expected through Bandai's official website and social channels. Two exclusive products have also been announced for selected Premier Demo Events and Bandai Card Games Fest 2026-27 events. These include the Official Playmat: Naruto Vs. Sasuke and the Premium Card Collection Vol. 00: Chakra Set. Both products are set to be available through selected events, including Bandai Card Games Fest Orlando and London. Details regarding participating stores, event dates, registration and product availability have yet to be confirmed.
More details expected at Jump Festa 2027
With the June 2027 launch approaching, Bandai has outlined a substantial lead-up programme designed to get players familiar with the game before release day. The combination of ready-to-play starter decks, collectible booster packs and widespread demo events could give the Naruto Card Game a strong starting point, particularly among fans who have followed the series for years. For now, the next major update is expected at Jump Festa 2027 this December, where Bandai is set to share more information about the upcoming release.
Until then, Naruto fans can look forward to getting their first hands-on experience at demo events beginning in February 2027, ahead of the game's official arrival in June.
