The LEGO NINJAGO Destiny’s Bounty Adventures board game is giving fans another way to explore the world of their favourite ninjas, with cooperative quests, character upgrades and an exclusive minifigure. Designed for two to four players aged eight and over, the game sees players team up as Kai, Nya, Cole or Zane to tackle challenges and battle enemies, including a crew of pirates. It also marks the third collaboration between LEGO and tabletop games publisher Asmodee. With six different adventures to complete, players can make choices that influence how their quests unfold, offering plenty of reasons to return for another game. The set also includes LEGO ninja minifigures to build and use during play, including an exclusive Nya figure.
Six adventures to tackle together
Teamwork sits at the heart of Destiny’s Bounty Adventures, with players working together rather than competing against one another. Along the way, they can upgrade their ninja characters as they progress, adding an extra layer of strategy to the experience. The game has already attracted positive feedback from customers, particularly LEGO NINJAGO fans. One Amazon reviewer described it as a “great game for any Ninjago fan”, highlighting the limited-edition minifigure as a particular draw. Another player praised the game's gradual introduction to its mechanics, explaining that it starts simply before becoming more challenging. They also enjoyed the character upgrades, which give players another reason to keep progressing through the adventures. Other reviews have highlighted the colourful artwork and sturdy components, with one customer calling it a “Brilliant board game” that was “very entertaining”. However, the game might require a little patience before the adventure begins. One reviewer said they needed to watch a couple of short explainer videos to get to grips with the rules, while the initial setup and sorting of character accessories also took some time. Storage was another minor criticism, with the same reviewer noting that the boxes were not particularly sturdy and that pieces could fall out easily.
A new option for family gaming
The launch also celebrates 15 years of LEGO NINJAGO, bringing the franchise's characters and adventures to the tabletop. Roger Martin, marketing director at Asmodee, said the collaboration was built around “Adventure and teamwork”, describing these as central to the appeal of family gaming. For households looking for something to play together during the holidays, Destiny’s Bounty Adventures offers a cooperative alternative to traditional competitive board games. Its mix of quests, character progression and LEGO building could appeal to both younger players and longtime NINJAGO fans.
