If you thought Halo's return was stopping with the upcoming video game remake, think again! Halo fans are getting another exciting way to relive Master Chief's legendary first adventure, and this time it will be across the tabletop. Mantic Games has officially revealed Halo: Campaign Evolved – The Board Game, bringing one of gaming's most iconic campaigns into board game form for the very first time.

Halo's first campaign gets a board game
Mantic Games has announced a partnership with Halo Studios to create Halo: Campaign Evolved – The Board Game, a brand new tabletop experience inspired by the upcoming remake of Halo's original campaign.
Just like the video game, players will step into the boots of Master Chief as they revisit the story that introduced millions of players to the Halo universe. The board game will support both solo play and two-player co-op, making it easy to tackle the Covenant alone or with a friend.
It's currently scheduled to launch during Q4 2026, so there's still a little wait before players can get their hands on it.
Inspired by the new video game remake
The board game follows the announcement of Halo: Campaign Evolved, the upcoming remake of the original 2001 Halo campaign.
Rather than being a simple remaster, the game has been rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. Alongside a complete visual overhaul, Halo Studios has promised enhanced gameplay mechanics and expanded content while staying true to the classic adventure that introduced players to the ringworld of Halo.
With both projects sharing the same inspiration, fans can experience Master Chief's first mission in two completely different ways!
What do we know so far?
Right now, Mantic is keeping most of the details under wraps.
The publisher has described Halo: Campaign Evolved as an action-packed board game, but that's about as specific as it gets. There's currently no information about gameplay mechanics, miniatures, board layouts, campaign progression, components, or pricing.
Mantic already knows Halo
This isn't Mantic Games' first trip into the Halo universe. In fact, the publisher has spent the last couple of years building an impressive tabletop range.
Back in 2024, Mantic released Halo: Flashpoint, a miniature skirmish game based on Halo's competitive multiplayer battles. Because of that success, a campaign-focused Halo board game feels like a natural next step!
More than just Halo
Halo isn't the only major licence in Mantic's growing catalogue either.
The publisher has built a reputation for adapting popular entertainment franchises into tabletop experiences, with games based on Hellboy, Invincible, The Umbrella Academy, and several other well-known series already under its belt.
