We finally made Illumineers! After being separated from our companions, forced to travel far and wide through the Inklands, and to face the threats of the Vine and its Vinelings, we finally have our destination in sight. The lights of Hyperia City can be spotted clearly now at the horizon as we come closer to the end of our journey and to the start of a new one within this majestic city.
Like you, this is my first time visiting Hyperia City and I cannot wait to walk its streets and its waterways. I am not sure what I should expect from this new Location in Disney Lorcana as only a few of its corners and inhabitants have been revealed to us so far. I know we will know more as we approach the City but I am very excited to finally have a chance to see the “town where metro meets fantasy!”. My expectation is that the city will offer the possibility to encounter new personalities together with some familiar faces we already met during our travel. I cannot wait to see again some of our friends Illumineers and their Glimmers and to make new friends.
On this topic, I actually just read in the news provided by Ravensburger that some of our friends from Zootopia have recently moved into Hyperia City. I know you all already know some of them from the most recent Lorecast but there is one that you haven't seen yet. He has very famous and well known public figure in Zootopia thus his journey to Hyperia City as been kept a secret until today when Zatu can finally reveal him in all his glory. Have you guessed it correctly? I hope so and I also hope you are ready to meet again the ex-mayor of Zootopia, Leodore Lionheart.
Being a seasoned politician, Leodore has not wasted time and he has already started to work his way into the public and political life of Hyperia City. You can see him here in a picture that our beloved Alice Pisoni took recently and named “Lionheart, Cleaning Up the City”. You can see the picture and the full story at page 147 of our 14th issue of the Disney Lorcana core set (Sapphire edition).
I really respected Lionheart when he was serving as mayor of Zootopia. He coined the city’s motto, “In Zootopia, anyone can be anything” and worked tirelessly to ensure that all mammals were treated equally within his city. Of course, his words and public image did not always aligned with his actions like the time where it pushed to cover up the missing mammals crisis. Today in Hyperia City we see him displaying publicly its civic sense by spending time and efforts to clean the city from garbage and tons of paper flyers. I personally think he could have just done that without calling a press conference but I hope that he is doing it to create awareness and to drive more people into volunteering. I actually heard from a friendly Illumineer that the street of Hyperia City are not always filled with music and art as that. I think I recall they said something like “something nefarious is happening in the back alleys and waterways” but I will check with them at their own Global Page to be sure.
I hope Lionheart this time will make amends for his part errors and focus on being the charming, noble, and inspiring leader we all want him to be. I was pretty please to notice on his picture he now has Alert, making him able to spot and pursue any Evasive Characters that will try to sneak through the streets of Hyperia City. I also noticed he can now put his “Civic Duty” ability to good use by removing all damage from chosen character or Location by consuming 6 Ink (or Ink drops). It is pretty good to know that Lionheart will care so deeply for our city considering how many amazing Locations we can visit in Hyperia City. His ability may seem a bit expensive at first glance but I am sure it will be much easier to put it at good use considering the new Ink Drop technology developed in Hyperia. It is also pretty nice that Lionheart confirms itself as a very solid Character with a nice
Strength of 3 and very good Willpower of 5.
