A very specific kind of fantasy chaos has officially arrived in Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked - and this time it comes with corporate meetings, questionable leadership, and get-rich-quick schemes.
The game’s latest free update brings Acquisitions Incorporated into the dungeon-crawling RPG, adding a new set of adventures built around the long-running comedy fantasy series.
Corporate Chaos
For anyone unfamiliar, Acquisitions Incorporated started as a comedic D&D actual-play series created by Penny Arcade and later became one of the stranger official corners of the wider Dungeons & Dragons universe.
Now its corporate fantasy world has crossed into Battlemarked, with players taking on missions handed out by Acq. Inc. CEO Omin Dran, voiced once again by Jerry Holkins.
The new content leans heavily into the same satire fans would expect, mixing dungeon crawling with corporate nonsense, risky business decisions, and magical workplace disasters.
New Adventures
The update adds five new side quests in total.
These are designed as “Standalone Adventures,” meaning players can replay them separately once they’ve been completed during the main campaign.
That structure seems aimed at making the new content easier to revisit with multiplayer groups without needing to replay larger campaign sections every time.
And considering Demeo has always worked best as a social co-op experience, replayable side content feels like a fairly natural fit.
Self-Aware Humour
A lot of the humour here apparently revolves around corporate greed and workplace absurdity - which the update itself seems pretty aware of.
That’s especially noticeable given that the developers have already confirmed paid premium expansions are planned for later this year. So the game joking about monetisation and business culture while simultaneously teasing future paid content feels at least a little intentional.
Thankfully, the Acquisitions Incorporated content itself is entirely free.
More Improvements
Outside the new quests, the update also introduces several quality-of-life improvements.
The multiplayer browser has been expanded with additional filters, allowing players to search for groups based on preferred playstyles and difficulty settings. That should make it easier to find players looking for similar sessions, whether that’s casual dungeon runs or more achievement-focused games.
VR Dungeon Crawling
For anyone who hasn’t tried Demeo before, the game blends tabletop-inspired dungeon crawling with VR and traditional multiplayer gameplay.
Players move miniatures around a virtual tabletop, creating the feeling of sitting around a physical board game session while still functioning as a full digital RPG underneath.
It’s always had a slightly playful approach to fantasy adventure, which probably explains why Acquisitions Incorporated fits into the world surprisingly well.
