In an age where I personally am becoming increasingly frustrated by social media, there are those moments of joy still to be found there when you stumble across news like this. Asmodee USA announced on their socials this week that Azul Kids is coming, and coming very soon. They note arriving in August 2026.
Azul is a wonderful game where players build mosaics looking for the best scores possible. It feels like a classic modern board game for me. I often look at it and wonder “are my young kids ready for this game yet?” I’m not convinced at their age because there is a lot to consider as anyone who has played Azul well knows.
We’ve had huge success in my home with games such as My First Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride: First Journey. Games purposefully adapted for younger gamers. To see that there is now a kids version of Azul brings me huge excitement as a parent on being able to offer another great game to my kids that they will be able to cope with.
There isn’t too much more news to go off other than it is suggested as suitable for 5+ and it will be for 2-4 players. We have to stay tuned as they release more about the game. I already cannot wait for this one.
