Fairy Mount Games has revealed its debut project, a three-player strategy title heading to Steam in Fall 2026. A trailer is now live, and a demo is planned for Steam Next Fest, giving players an early chance to see how it all comes together in practice.
Built by a team of veteran developers, the game leans into clean, readable systems and a tightly focused competitive structure, wrapped in a colourful elemental theme.
Flame, Forest & Flood Enters the Arena
The game, titled Flame, Forest & Flood, revolves around a three-way conflict between elemental forces. Players step into the roles of Flame, Forest, or Flood, each represented by its own character: Blaze, Adeer, and Herr Mitt.
Each match plays out as a shifting contest of control, where positioning and timing matter more than anything else. The structure is designed to keep outcomes fully in the hands of players, with no random elements influencing the result.
Built on Pure Decisions
One of the defining features of Flame, Forest & Flood is its complete lack of randomness. There are no dice rolls, card draws, or unpredictable effects shaping the flow of play.
Instead, everything is visible and deterministic. Players win by understanding positioning, anticipating opponents, and making better long-term choices.
Simple Rules, Subtle Depth
Fairy Mount Games is aiming for a system that is easy to pick up but still rewards experience over time. The rules are intentionally streamlined so new players can understand the basics quickly without needing extended tutorials.
Once inside the system, however, layers of strategy begin to emerge. Positioning, timing, and prediction all play a role in shaping how matches unfold.
A Studio Built on Experience
The studio behind the project is led by Denis Comtesse and Blaze Zywiczynski, both veteran developers with backgrounds in strategy and narrative-driven games.
Fairy Mount Games describes its approach as focused on handcrafted design, open-source tools, and clear mechanical identity. The team has also confirmed it does not use generative AI in development, instead relying on traditional production workflows.
Cozy Competition With a Sharp Edge
Although framed as a cozy strategy experience, the game is still fundamentally competitive. The tone is light, with stylised elemental characters and a cyclical rivalry at its core, but the underlying structure is built around direct player competition.
Matches are designed to be fast, readable, and replayable, with each session offering a different tactical puzzle depending on how opponents approach the board.
Coming Soon to Steam
Flame, Forest & Flood is scheduled to launch on Steam in Fall 2026, with a demo planned for Steam Next Fest ahead of release.
