If you like quick-fire card battles and adorable cards, then Rookling Heroes might be the Kickstarter for you. Rookling Heroes comes from the creator Nich Angell, who also created the fantastic solo RPG game, Colostle, which his new outing is set in the same universe as. In this new game you choose a squad of 3 Rooklings to face off against your opponent, using their special moves to manipulate the battlefield and defeat the opposing team.
While you both pick your own teams, you draw from a shared battlefield deck of energy cards to power your Rooklings, whether to attack or defend. When you get the chance to use their special abilities, they will deploy ‘Field Effects’, which are cards that gets huffled into the shared deck, waiting for someone to draw them. If your Rooklings take too much damage, they can enter their mighty siege form for a last stand. Beware though, if all 3 end up in siege mode, you lose.
