Pack your tiny suitcases, Everdell fans – we’re heading west! Tycoon Games has just announced Everdell: Emerland, the latest stop in the critter-filled world we know and love. And this time, we’re trading in cosy forest glades for lush jungle canopies, mysterious ruins, and shimmering treasures.
That’s right – Emerland is the newest standalone game in the Everdell universe, part of the “Edge of the Map” series that takes players beyond the familiar valley and into wilder, more thematic corners of the world. If you’ve ever wondered what lies beyond that charming little tree, Emerland is ready to show you.
A Jungle Adventure (With the Same Cozy Vibes)
In Emerland, players guide their woodland critters as they build bustling new cities deep within the tropical jungles west of Everdell Valley. Think vibrant greens, colorful flora, and the distant call of something exotic in the treetops. But don’t worry — while the setting might be new, that signature Everdell coziness isn’t going anywhere.
You’ll still be gathering resources, constructing charming buildings, and welcoming adorable animal residents to your city — only now, you’ll do it surrounded by ancient ruins and glittering relics. The board even features 3D ruins brimming with treasures, adding a tactile, treasure-hunting twist to the familiar Everdell formula.
It’s the same charming city-building gameplay you fell in love with, just with a fresh coat of jungle-green paint (and maybe a bit more humidity).
Quick, Clever, and Gorgeous
One of the best parts? Emerland keeps things light and breezy. The game is designed for one to four players, ages 10 and up, and clocks in at a snappy 30 minutes. Perfect for a midweek adventure or a casual game night when you don’t want to commit to a marathon session under the Great Tree.
That makes it the kind of Everdell experience you can easily break out again and again — quick to play, easy to teach, but still packed with that satisfying engine-building depth that keeps you coming back.
A Kickstarter Expedition Awaits
Emerland is set to head to Kickstarter soon, so prepare those pledge fingers. Tycoon Games hasn’t dropped the exact launch date yet, but given the Everdell fanbase, it’s safe to say this one’s going to get a lot of love right out of the gate.
