Star Wars Unlimited TCG: A Lawless Time announced

For those of us that have been playing since the first set dropped it does feel like a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, and now in March we have the 7th set of the Star Wars Unlimited TCG coming out - ‘A Lawless Time’. With this new release incoming, we will be seeing some big changes to Star Wars Unlimited including what is legal and what formats will be in place going forward.

We’ve had a few suspended cards before now, but for anyone that has been playing the game regularly, a big meta shakeup certainly isn’t a bad thing, and now the first three sets will be rotated out from the Premier format. The sets rotating out are Spark Of Rebellion, Shadows of the Galaxy and Twilight of the Republic, and going forward we will see three sets rotate out each year, meaning up to six sets will be legal in this format at any one time.

We have a new format announced though which is Eternal, and in this format, all cards are currently legal (although there may be some suspensions in the future) and this will be a format supported through Organised Play, meaning some Planetary Qualifiers and other events will run Eternal going forward as a format.

On the heels of the new set a collection of Twin Suns decks will be dropping later this year. Twin Suns is effectively a three to four player game of Star Wars Unlimited, akin to Magic the Gathering Commander where you can only have one copy of a card in your deck, and it features two leaders. It’s a crazy take on Star Wars Unlimited and it’s cool to see this format getting more support going forward!
