My Board Game Logbook joins Kickstarter

My memory isn’t what it used to be (considering some of the stories I’m told, this may be a blessing rather than a curse). So many glorious victories in Scythe are fading into oblivion. Those amazing clutch rolls in Arkham Horror TCG? Fading fast, my friends. That day I dominated everyone at Pac Man the Board Game. If only I’d written it all down for the benefit of future generations…

This is advertised as your ultimate board game companion, although my cat Tonto would like to say otherwise (he seems to think that sitting on the largest deck of cards is the ultimate way to help his peculiar humans in their strange activities). With the log book, before you play you can revisit your last session to recall your current head to head results, discover tactics you have already tried and even if you enjoyed the game or not. Keep track of the games you play, who it was with, who went first and who won. Also note any tactics you tried or should try next time.

Each page is dedicated to a game. You can then log your play sessions as you go. Note who played, who went first, who won. There’s also space in this area to note a tactic you used and what to do differently next time, instead of repeating the same strategic mistakes over and over (as I said, the memory’s not what it used to be (did I say that earlier?)).

A smaller soft back edition is available, and is great to throw in the game draw and scribble results, whereas the premium leather bound A4 edition is your sacred book that keeps meticulous records and resolves all disputes (or extends them into perpetuity).

Board gamers often sit in a Venn diagram with journal fiends and craft hounds, so I’d wager there’s a chance you’re dwelling in one of those intersections. If so, head over to the crowdfunding page here and start deciding which game will feature on page one…

(Make sure you factor shipping into your decision, there’s a handy table on the Campaign page to help.)

About the author:

Steve is currently a freelance board game blogger (with articles appearing in Tabletop Gaming Magazine, Casual Gaming Insider and Senet), but often dreams of life as a pirate, or as a ghost herder in the Lake District, or as an evil estate agent who sells haunted houses for his own dark pleasure. Instead of figuring out how to do these jobs in real life like a normal lunatic, he tries to write about them instead, and releases the resultant books upon the unsuspecting world via famous digital bookstores. More books are bound to follow. Find this peculiar entity here.
