If World War II wasn’t bad enough already, things just got weird. Konflikt 47, a game set in an alternate 1947 where the major powers got access to mysterious Rift Tech, is getting a new edition!
Konflikt 47 has been around for a while, mostly as a spin off of Bolt Action. This time around, Warlord Games have gone to great effort to make it something more distinct and special. The bones of Bolt Action are still there, so never fear those who enjoy that system, but K47 is more its own game now. It has more focus on heroes and horrors, plus the rift technology.
It has a new mechanic around rift dice and how the rift tech is used by various units. It might be helpful, but it might also not entirely go as planned. They have expanded the lore to make it a more fleshed out world, and have plans to release more story through future supplements, making it a very narrative focused game.
Upon release there will be a new starter set featuring the US and Axis forces. Plus there will be 5 new starter armies. The US, Axis, Empire of Japan, Soviet Bloc and British Commonwealth. There are more plastic models this time around (keep an eye out for Wargamers Illustrated if you want a free taster sprue) with Warlord Resin still being around as well.
