The festive season just started and Ravensburger has announced plenty of new products to make our holidays season even more magical. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait until 2026 for the first set – Winterspell – to get our hands on most of these new products, but it will surely be worth the wait considering the list of new products keeps getting longer and longer, as we just heard yesterday.
Starting from what we know today. Winterspell, the 11th and first set of 2026, will introduce cards from Pocahontas, Lilo & Stitch and, most importantly, Darkwing Duck! The set will have a strong winter-holiday theme although we do not know yet which cards will be featured. The expectation is that the set will keep building on the new mechanics released in Whispers in the Well but we will need to wait a bit longer in order to know more about set composition. What we do know, however, is that the set will feature four different Playmats. These will include “Belle, Archer”, “Ariel, Sonic Warrior”, “Dragon Fire” and “Mickey, Brave little Prince”. Not all these Playmats may be available through the usual local stores but we will learn more as we approach the release date in mid of February.
Together with the usual line-up of One player starter decks and Booster packs and Boxes, Winterspell will also feature a new Gift Box featuring Scrooge McDuck, a new collection Starter Set featuring Stitch and a 2-Player Starter Set. The last one is a completely new product that is designed as a way for new players to get started with the game. The 2-Player Starter Set will release in May and will include two different beginner decks (Amber/Emerald and Amethyst/Ruby), 2 lore trackers, and 13 card damage tokens. The two decks are designed to provide a well-balanced experience to new players and, therefore, they will be more suitable to be played against each other and not in competitive settings. I am very curious to see which cards will be included and what mechanics will be featured in these decks.
Those that are not looking to just play Lorcana, will instead love the new Collector starter set – Stitch Edition. This will be the second product of this type and it will still include four Winterspell booster packs, an exclusive glimmer foil version of “Stitch, Carefree Snowboard” and a portfolio featuring “Stitch, Rock Star” on the cover. For those that haven’t managed to get the “Brave little Prince” one in the previous set, the portfolio is very portable, of good quality and it can be a top-notch solution to store your precious cards. Due to the size, it can only store up to 80 cards but it can be used as great way to save all your most rare cards, as well as any new Promo card.
Last but not least, Ravensburger will also release a new Disney Lorcana Gift set that will please players and collectors alike. The Winterspell gift set is themed around Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in Disney lore, and it comes with 6 randomly assorted booster packs, a storage box that can fit hundred of your cards and a special promo card of Scrooge “McDuck, S.H.U.S.H. Agent”. The past two promo cards in the gift set were glimmer foil and featured alternate artwork thus I cannot wait to see this card when it will hit the stores in March.
Personally, I’m itching to see all new products and promo cards coming in the new year for Disney Lorcana. The one I am mostly looking forward to, however, is the new Pre-release packs coming with set 12, the “Wilds Unknown”. These products will be the perfect item to use for pre-release events as it will come with 6 Booster packs from the new set , 1 out of 6 promo cards, 1 cardboard deck box, 4 dice with the Disney Lorcana icon, 1 rule sheet and 1 special set-specific item. If you want to know more you can check the official page but essentially the contents of this little box have been designed to provide everything you need for any Sealed or Pack-rush events at a very affordable price. I am a big fun of pre-released themed cards and decks and this one seems a very interesting option I cannot wait to try!
