| Eastern Front, summer 1944: Operation Bagration has shattered much of the German centre and Soviet armour is pushing for the Vistula and the outskirts of Warsaw. In Model's Counterattack you fight the battle of Radzymin, where the German player must rally what forces remain and counterattack from several directions to halt the offensive, at least for a while, as Warsaw rises up. This two-player operational wargame runs over ten turns, each representing one day, on a hex map at roughly two kilometres per hex, with units from brigades to battalions, mostly armoured, mechanised or motorised. The Soviet player activates whole army corps while the German player is more flexible, and the rules cover artillery bombardment, Stuka air support, Kampfgruppe formations, overruns, the Warsaw Uprising and General Model himself, plus event cards such as Panzerfaust and Battlefield Tank Recovery. The box contains a 56 x 86 cm map, 264 counters on two sheets, player aid and setup cards, two dice and a colour rulebook in English and Italian. Expect around four to five hours of play at a complexity of 2 out of 5; one for wargamers who enjoy an operational Eastern Front challenge. | Regular price
