Warhammer Day 2025: two new minis you’re gonna want

Warhammer Day is creeping up at the start of October, and you know what that means: brand new shiny minis to tempt our wallets! Games Workshop is marking the occasion with two commemorative releases – so save your pennies for these must have additions!

Let’s dive in.

Urkhan the Dark Warden – Chaos Champion Extraordinaire

If you’re like me and have a soft spot for the classic Chaos Warrior aesthetic, then Urkhan the Dark Warden is going to tick a lot of boxes. He’s basically the embodiment of that timeless “unstoppable wall of armour marching towards you” energy.

He also comes with a head swap option: horns or no horns. Personally, I’d go helmet all the way. There’s something far scarier about a faceless hunk of steel glaring at you with… well, nothing. You can’t read him, can’t reason with him, and that’s exactly what makes him terrifying.

And here’s the kicker: Urkhan is part of GW’s Commemorative Series. Translation? Once he drops on Warhammer Day, he’s gone when stock runs out. No second chances, no “I’ll grab him later” safety net. If you want this Champion leading your warband, you’re going to have to be quick on the order button.

Space Marine Captain With a Jump Pack – Zoom, Boom, and Doom

On the 40k side of things, we’ve got a brand-new Space Marine Captain with Jump Pack hitting the shelves. Every Marine player has been begging for updated jump pack characters, and GW clearly decided Warhammer Day was the perfect time to deliver.

This isn’t just a static pose either. He’s got options. Fancy a chainsword instead of a power weapon? Done. Want to switch the head for a different vibe? You can. It’s a kit that lets you tailor your Captain to fit your army’s theme while still standing out as the leader he’s meant to be.

So, Who Wins Warhammer Day?

Honestly? Both. Urkhan is the perfect nostalgic throwback for Chaos fans, and the Jump Pack Captain is exactly what 40k players have been crying out for. Warhammer Day is supposed to celebrate all corners of the hobby, and these two minis nail it.
