Shark Bite is coming to the big screen

Keller/Noll—the US production outfit best known for turning competitive cooking and quick-fire quizzes into long-running TV staples—is diving into new waters. The company, headed by Cleve Keller and Dave Noll, has teamed up with Amsterdam-based toy and games manufacturer Goliath and US media firm Perfect Game to bring the board game Shark Bite to television. Yes, the game where a plastic shark snaps its jaws on unsuspecting players is becoming a fully fledged gameshow.

For the TV version, the creators are going big. Really big. The concept revolves around five animatronic sharks, each around 20 feet long and designed with its own distinctive personality. Instead of rolling dice around a table, contestants will face off in pairs, tackling questions and challenges while these mechanical beasts loom nearby. The prize on the line is a tidy US$100,000—but a single wrong answer sends players straight into the mouth of one of the sharks. It’s family-friendly peril with a theatrical twist.

Goliath, one of the partners behind the adaptation, is no stranger to hits. The company’s catalogue includes Sequence, Gooey Looey, The Floor is Lava, and Pop! The Pig, with Shark Bite joining the lineup when it hit shelves in 2017. With its simple rules and gleefully tense “will it bite?” mechanic, it’s easy to see why producers might view it as ripe for a larger-than-life TV translation.

On the production side, Keller/Noll has plenty of experience shaping formats that resonate with broad audiences. Since 2007, the team has created more than 70 series totalling over 4,500 episodes, including Chopped, Flip Side, and America Says. Their partners at Perfect Game—founded by industry veterans Corey Rogers and Ross Greenberg—add even more gameshow pedigree to the mix.

Speaking about the project, Cleve Keller emphasised the global draw of the source material: “Shark Bite is enormously popular around the world, and obviously sharks are always in the zeitgeist. The Shark Bite brand is the greatest IP we’ve seen in a long time.”

Dave Noll echoed the sentiment, leaning into the show’s high-energy potential: “This is the ultimate family gameshow. A giant stage with five, mind-blowing animatronic sharks! And if you get the wrong answer… you must go into the shark’s mouth. Shark Bite easily has the potential to be the biggest global gameshow launch of 2026.”

With larger-than-life sharks, a splash of danger, and a well-established brand behind it, this adaptation could end up making some serious waves in the gameshow world.
