Modiphius to release a line of Discworld games in 2026

TERRY PRATCHETT

Discworld readers have plenty to look forward to next year, as Modiphius Entertainment is gearing up for a busy 2026 packed with new board games, card games, and even another RPG campaign. If you’re someone who shelves Pratchett novels by “favourite quote density,” it looks like your gaming shelf is about to get equally overcrowded.

The biggest early arrival is Discworld: Readers Digested, a new board game heading to Gamefound for pre-orders in Q1 2026. The design is based on Reiner Knizia’s Blue Moon City, but Modiphius has given it a full Discworld overhaul – new theme, new artwork, and new expansion content built in. It plays with 2–4 players, making it the kind of game that works whether you’re hosting a small game night or just dragging one unsuspecting friend along for “one quick round.”

Hot on its heels, the retail edition of Discworld: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork arrives in Q2. The original Kickstarter pulled in more than £2.4 million, and now the digest-sized core rulebook will be hitting friendly local gaming stores along with a starter set. That set includes a completely new adventure written specifically for the retail release, giving newcomers a clean entry point into tabletop life in Ankh-Morpork.

Things don’t slow down after that. Q3 brings Kill Sam Vimes, a Discworld card game where players take on the role of contract-bound assassins attempting the unenviable task of killing the Commander of the Watch. Expect traps, mishaps, and the sort of chaotic misfortune that tends to follow the Watch around anyway. If you enjoy schemes collapsing in increasingly comic ways, this one is probably aimed right at you.

Closing out the year in Q4 is a second major RPG campaign: Discworld: Adventures in Lancre and Uberwald. This one shifts the focus away from the city and into the Witches’ stomping grounds of Lancre, as well as Uberwald and the Chalk. More magic, more mud, and likely more cackling.

If you need something to tide you over before 2026 rolls around, Modiphius is teaming up with AEG for Discworld Live, a TTRPG show at indigo at the O2 later this month. High Rollers and Andy Farrant from Oxventure will be playing through The Hogswatch adventure right in time for the holiday season.

Anyone wanting notifications on when each project goes live can jump onto the Modiphius Discworld mailing list – probably the easiest way to keep track of a release calendar that’s suddenly very full.
