I’m not going to say anything about Mad Max, or the Thunderdome, or make a single reference to Tina Turner and that crazy eighties outfit. Nope, it’s all too obvious. That ain’t the way I roll. But there’s no denying the dystopian theme and the jacked-up vehicles and all the chaos that ensues. I’d be great at this – no driving licence, so chaos is guaranteed from me. Don’t sweat it too much, you’ll be fine in the passenger seat, I probably won’t crash.
What we’ve got here is a combination of board game, action movie and graphic novel art style, and I’m here for it. (It’s still cool to say that phrase, right? I mean, if sad and desperate Piers Morgan can call his book ‘Woke Is Dead’ (bleurgh) and people still use snowflake as an accusation, then I think I’m in the clear.)
Joyride: Full Throttle is a stand-alone board game in the highly acclaimed Joyride range for 2-6 players. Content from Full Throttle is fully compatible with previous Joyride games allowing players to mix and match cars, items, and more from across the series. This edition contains 20 tracks across 2 new maps – the sun-soaked Beachfront Boardwalk and the neon-drenched Abandoned Mall – as well as powerful new items and dangerous obstacles. New for Joyride: Full Throttle is an expanded Team Mode facilitating 2v2 or 2v2v2 racing. Players work together to drive their Superfan around the track as fast as possible, swapping the Superfan between their cars mid-race.

There’s a Drifter, for those of you who think you’re cool (yeah, you at the back). The Delivery Van, driven exactly the way an Amazon courier would drive. The Food Truck with a massive hotdog on top (yum). The Lowrider – get them beats on. The Mall Cop, who is apparently surprisingly agile. And the Van Lifers, who will do your head in with their tales of how they’re living life so much better than you are.
