Back in June, the rumour mill was swirling with mutterings of BB3 for September, with Tomb Kings as one of the teams. I put this to my friendly local GW assistant manager (and former pupil/minion of mine) who denied everything…
I mean I’m not one to say I told you so, but…
Bretonnians are totally new, Knight Blitzers and (s)crappy Squire Linesmen, with regular Knight Throwers and Catchers in the mix. I absolutely love the Squire sculpts, actually, and they’re going to see so much use outside of the game for conversions. I am certainly NOT already planning to do the whole team in a Monty Python and the Holy Grail theme.
The Tomb Kings are pretty much the classic team with new sculpts, and it’s great to see undead teams continuing to get choice and variety – they’re still a classic big, slow, hitty team. The new rulebook is streamlined rather than a full new edition, with all the extant teams (woo Chorfs!) plus High Elves available as a pdf download at release.
The other big win for me is the new tokens! These are great, I love that we’re getting GW acknowledge how much folk like to use status tokens (definitely not just going after the acrylics market).

Guess what’s going on top of my Xmas list this year!
